Welsh International Festival of Football

Tournament Format

Action from the Welsh International Festival of Football

Teams will be split into pools at the group stages. All teams will play all of the other teams within their group during the early stages of the tournament. Teams finishing in the top section of their respected groups will then advance to the Welsh International Festival of Football knock out stages. Teams finishing further down their respected groups will progress to the Challenge Cup or the Shield knock out stages. At some age groups if the entry level is very high there will also be a Bowl competition. All finals will be played on the second day of the tournament, Losing semi-finalists of each tournament will then play for 3rd & 4th place in their respected tournament also on the second day. This format is to ensure all participating teams are still competing in a competitive tournament on day two of the event regardless of your first day’s results.

Teams are reminded that the above structure is a guide only and may be subject to change right up until a short time before the tournament date. We will keep teams who have booked up to date with developments throughout the year as to the final format of their respected age group.
